On behalf of the Chairman and Members of the AUAP Election Committee 2026 , the Secretariat is pleased to share with you the approved list of candidates for the AUAP Election 2026.

All candidates have undergone a thorough review process, and their qualifications and mandatory requirements have been carefully verified. Their eligibility to contest the election was formally approved during the meetings of the AUAP Election Committee:

The Secretariat is pleased to share the list of candidates for the positions of PresidentFirst Vice President, Second Vice President, and Executive Board for the AUAP Election 2026, as approved by the AUAP Election Committee 2026.

Urgent! Rescheduling 38th AUAP Annual Conference and 18th AUAP General Conference to September 15–17, 2026, John von Neumann University, Kecskemét, Hungary. (March 19, 2026)


As you know, the conflict in the Middle East has created an extraordinary situation that has significantly complicated travel and visa processing for the 38th AUAP Annual Conference, scheduled to take place May 19–21, 2026, at John von Neumann University (JvNU) in KecskemétHungary

Secretary General Prof. Dr. Anoop Swarup has been in close communication with the organisation community to ensure the safety of all participants and to identify suitable alternative dates. Following these consultations, the proposed new dates for the 38th AUAP Annual Conference are 1517 September 2026.

In light of these developments, we now propose and confirm that the 18th AUAP General Conference will also be rescheduled to September 15172026, at John von Neumann University in Hungary, and that the 18th AUAP General Assembly, which was to have been held on October 29–30, 2026, at SIAS University in China, so that both events can be organized together.

The 38th AUAP Annual Conference in conjunction with the 18th AUAP General Conference is organized  by John von Neumann University (Hungary),  Sias University (P.R. China), Daffodil International University (Bangladesh),   and Co-hosted by the World University Rankings for Innovation (South Korea),   Africa Asia Scholars Global Network (United Kingdom), Iqra University (Pakistan), Panpacific University (Philippines), Rizal Technological University (Philippines), Siam University (Thailand), the Master’s Institute Development Academy & Seminary (Thailand).

The conference's theme is on “Reimagining Higher Education in the Age of AI: Innovation, Inclusion and Impact for a Sustainable Future”.

The aim of the conferences is to bring together

1. European-Asian and Global South Universities cooperation and networking,

2. Discussion of future megatrends in the age of AI (geopolitics, sustainability,

    technological and educational collaborations),

3. Exchange of experiences and best practices between universities collaboration,

4. Peaceful cooperation for a more sustainable world.

The Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP) is pleased to announce the commencement of preparations for the AUAP Election 2026, in accordance with the approval of the 60th AUAP Executive Board Meeting held on November 12, 2025, at the Amari Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand.

The Board has approved that the AUAP Election 2026 will be conducted during the 19th AUAP General Conference, to be hosted by Sias University, Zhengzhou and Xinzheng, on October 29, 2026.  This election will determine the following positions for the term January 1, 2027 – December 31, 2028:

·          President of AUAP

·          First Vice President

·          Second Vice President

·          AUAP Executive Board Members

Once finalized by the AUAP Election Committee 2026, the Secretariat will circulate the qualifications, responsibilities, and eligibility criteria for all candidates.  Please note that only active AUAP members for the years 2024–2026 who have completed their membership dues are eligible to vote in this election.
